The Denmark-based brewing company, Mikkeller Brewing, will open a massive brewery at Citi Field this weekend—the only one in NYC and the first on the East Coast.
On Sunday at 1 p.m., the 10,000-square-foot brewery will open at the Mets’ Flushing stadium with both a restaurant as well as a 20-barrel brewhouse where visitors can see the brewers at work. The bar-restaurant will offer 60 taps to choose from with the ability to also purchase products from their beer shop to take home. As their site explains:
The premium beer experience will be complemented by a high-quality food program executed by Mikkeller NYC’s in-house kitchen and including items from year-round partners Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors, Whitmans, Unidentified Flying Chickens, and Claus Meyer’s Great Northern Food Hall.
Although the brewery is located in Citi Field, it’ll be open year-round, even once baseball season is over. Mikkeller Brewing NYC decided to open in this location after their ballpark beers—Henry Hops and Say Hey Sally—proved to be a success this season at the baseball field. Because it will have year-round access, there is an entrance outside of the stadium as well. After opening day, they will be open on. Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and then Fridays through Sunday 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.
