With a frosty, flakey, and slushy winter headed our way, NYC may potentially receive its first snow of the season this afternoon–two weeks earlier than usual!
Though this morning’s sun is shining brighter than ever it is definitely a chilly one out there, and according to the National Weather Service, there’s a “20 percent chance of snow showers after noon.”
AccuWeather is predicting the same, forecasting the temperatures to drop, the wind to pick up, and a few flurries to potentially fall. They also warn that unsecured objects and holiday decorations may be blown around, so you’ll probably want to hold off on blowing up your holiday lawn inflatables today!
If you’re crossing your fingers for the chance to create snow angels and build snowmen today, don’t hold your breath.
New York Metro Weather states that no accumulation is expected.
Nevertheless, between the chilly temperatures and wind chill, we wouldn’t be surprised if we do happen to see some flurries today!
However, we don’t expect it to break any records–like Central Park’s record of making it 651 days without at least 1″ of snow.
