With all the new regulations that coronavirus has brought to NYC, businesses have definitely had to pivot to stay afloat and up with the times. And distilleries are no exception.
Although they can still sell alcohol to-go, they are also making other creations with their ingredients: the much-desired hand sanitizer.
Greenhook Gin, located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, announced on their Instagram over the weekend that they partnered with another local distillery, St. Agrestis, to deliver cocktails along with house-made hand sanitzer.
“If you’re in need of a drink and some sanitizer,” they wrote. “Click the link in our bio. We have partnered with our friends @st_agrestis to begin making curbside deliveries of our gins and Gin & Tonic as well as St. Agrestis’s Negroni, Spritz, Amaro and Bitter…Every delivery comes with a FREE bottle of sanitizer that we have made in house and hope to be able to make much more of. Stay safe and keep spirits high.”
You can place orders online here, to Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens, with a $50 minimum. All orders placed before 3pm are available for same day delivery to your curbside. Orders placed after then will be processed the following day (Sunday excluded). You can also order by calling 973-598-5746.

And they’re not the only ones.
New York Distilling Company, also in Brooklyn, shared via social media that they are in the process of trying to create hand sanitizer in-house.
“We are trying to scale up our efforts to produce much needed hand sanitizer in accordance with the @who [World Health Organization],” they said. “The demand for sanitary products, as you know, is high and only increasing. We will update our social channels if we ever reach a point where we can sell publicly.”
They asked if anyone knows someone with access to Hydrogen Peroxide and/or Glycerin in the NY Metro or Suburban area, to please let them know. You can DM them on Instagram or email info@nydistilling.com.
