On almost any day you’ll pass bundles of trash bags on the curb, or see a rat come out from the shadows while walking the streets of New York. It’s no secret that NYC is dirty, but we now know for sure—New York City is the dirtiest city in the country.
A study was recently released by Busy Bee—a company that offers cleaning and janitorial services—that ranked the dirtiest cities in the country. They combined the data from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the American Housing Survey, and the U.S. Census Bureau for their study. Things that were looked at for the results “include litter, pests such as mice and cockroaches, population density, particulate matter air pollution, and nitrogen dioxide air pollution.”
