If you need a breather from the Midtown crowds this December, there’s a spot off the J worth bookmarking.
The Chinatown Holiday Market might be more elusive than the likes of Winter Village at Bryant Park and the city’s other major holiday markets, but the trek to Canal Street is worth perusing. Should you be in search of something unique and meaningful, there are plenty of creatives celebrating their craft and culture at this festive event.
But don’t wait — there aren’t many opportunities left to shop the pop-up, and you certainly can’t show up to the Christmas party empty-handed.
All about the Chinatown Holiday Market
From November 21st to December 21st, Fridays through Sundays at New Kam Man (200 Canal Street) are dedicated to the seasonal gathering with goods, snacks, and other celebrations of Asian culture.
Hop over to the second floor to peruse the Chinatown Holiday Market’s over 35 AAPI vendors across an array of areas: art, small press publishing, culinary goods, and beyond.
Here you’ll find modern jewelry from Xanh Studio, stories from the AAPI voices of Third State Books, contemporary art from Looky Goods, and sweet sips from Yu & Pu’er Tea, to name a few.

While you shop for loved ones — or yourself — you’ll be able to enjoy pop-up treats as well. For the final two weekends of the event, the schedule is as follows:
- Artbean Coffee on Saturday, December 13th
- Rose’s Pineapple Shorts on Saturday, December 20th
- Khot Phet on Sunday, December 21st.
Time is of the essence, so we recommend you make your way to Chinatown before your annual holiday gathering. What are you planning on shopping at this year’s market? (Find us near the books.)
