The New York Rangers are coasting their way through the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and they’re getting close to the final! After locking up the #1 seed and winning the President’s Trophy for having the most points in the regular season…do we dare say it’s our year?! As the Blueshirts make their run, there are tons of amazing bars around NYC showing the games, packed to the brim with fans and a raucous atmosphere! Here’s the most exciting places to drink, eat, and watch the Rangers during the playoffs.
1. Stout, Multiple Locations
Stout has 4 different locations around NYC, but we recommend stopping by the Penn Station location, which is just steps away from MSG (we swear we can hear the goal horn from here). With two floors of bars and 20+ big screens, there’s plenty of room to sit and stand to watch the game. Plus, they give away free blue shots after every Rangers goal, so be sure to come thirsty! Penn Station – 133 W 33rd St (Between 6th & 7th Ave)
Grand Central – 60 E 41st St (Between Park & Madison Ave)
Bryant Park – 109 W 39th St (Between Broadway & 6th Ave)
FiDi – 90 John St (Corner of John & Gold St)
2. Mustang Harry’s, Midtown
Mustang Harry’s has been a New York Rangers fan haven for over 30 years, and that still rings true for 2024. Dozens of TVs line the interior of the sweeping 7,500-sq ft, 2-floor space…as well as a menu of American classics and comprehensive selection of 200+ whiskeys, fine spirits, 20+ beers, and handcrafted cocktails. They even host player meet and greets during the regular season, having welcomed Rangers players like Jimmy Vesey & Ryan Lindgren over the past few months!
Where: 352 7th Ave (at 30th St)
3. American Whiskey, Midtown
Known of course for their whiskey, this bar is tons of fun and offers great drink specials like buckets of Happy Dad and free Jell-O shots after every goal! Not to mention their food menu is pretty solid and the clientele is highly energetic!
Where: 247 W 30th St
4. Jack Doyle’s, Midtown
Jack Doyle’s is one of our favorite Irish pubs in the city, and they go all out for the New York Rangers! Their atmosphere is unmatched, and the drink specials are pretty solid too…which can range from $20 Miller Lite Buckets to $3 Bud Light and Fireball shots. Ask them what kind of specials they got going on if you stop by!
Where: 240 W 35th St
5. The Rutherford, Midtown
The Rutherford couldn’t physically be any closer to Madison Square Garden, and we think that’s why the atmosphere is off the charts. Their indoor/outdoor patio combination is a total game changer, and the “rooftop” makes for the perfect place to watch the game in an open-air space. It’s located right in Penn Plaza just steps from MSG’s front door.
Where: W 33rd & 8th Ave
6. Downtown Social, East Village
One of the best places to watch Rangers playoffs in downtown Manhattan is…Downtown Social! When we say this place is a party, we really mean it! They have different drink specials for every game…which have included $2 tacos, $6 High Noons, $4 red solo cups, and a whole lot more. Be sure to snag a photo with one of their cardboard cutouts too.
Where: 149 2nd Ave
7. Ralph’s Sports Bar, Staten Island
For all of our Staten Island folks, get fired up at Ralph’s Sports Bar & Restaurant on game day. The Italian food and drinks only make the occasion even better…and their “Let’s Go Rangers Shots” are a work of art.
Where: 1571 Richmond Road, Staten Island
8. Murphy’s Bar, Astoria
Deemed the “one stop shop for all things sports and events” this is THE place to watch the Rangers in Queens. Their outdoor beer garden is perfect for large groups and their interior is also full of TVs to get up close and personal with the action. We suggest stopping by early for happy hour (ends at 6 pm), where they serve $11 burger & beer special, $6 drafts, $6 well drinks, and more.
