The new year is kicking off with a range of classical concerts, but perhaps the most highly anticipated show for New Yorkers is the NYC Phil’s performance at the world’s best sounding theater. On January 25, the Philharmonic will take over Radio City Music Hall and tickets are officially on sale now.
New York Philharmonic at Radio City: Event info & tickets

This incredible classical concert in NYC will be led by Gustavo Dudamel, the Philharmonic’s newly appointed music and artistic director. He will conduct more than 80 members of the oldest symphony orchestra in the United States in a one-of-a-kind performance, conceived as a love letter to New York.
The event also highlights the Philharmonic’s commitment to innovation and, most importantly, brings classical music and this major institution closer to all audiences. This goes in line with Dudamel’s efforts to make the genre more appealing to young folks, having performed at events like Coachella with the LA Philharmonic.
Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online via Ticketmaster. Music lovers can also bet tickets in person at the Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, and Beacon Theatre box offices from Saturday, December 13.

Why this Radio City debut is a pop culture milestone for classical music
Having undergone a major glow-up, Radio City Music Hall is now the best sounding theater in the world, boasting Sphere Immersive Sound. This ground-breaking audio system uses next-generation 3D audio beamforming and wave field synthesis technology, with over 7,000 individually amplified loudspeaker drivers. What it means for the audience is that the audio experience will be the same regardless of where you sit.
For example, if you have orchestra seats, you won’t hear the muffled sound sometimes found in this section. Similarly, if you get tickets for the third mezzanine, you’ll still hear the music clearly although you’re far from the stage. This is huge for classical music aficionados as it breaks away from the concept of cheap seats, and you can immerse yourself in the music even though you’re not seated in the front row.
More classical concerts in January
The Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity is welcoming a celebration of some of the most celebrated classical composers of all time. Guests can start the new year with 60-minute performances of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik as well as Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5.
