What they are looking for though is two people to fill the shoes of the team’s iconic mascots, Mr. and Mrs. Met!

We are seeking a high-energy, enthusiastic individual to represent our brand as our Mascot. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for entertainment and a knack for engaging and interacting with fans of all ages. The Mascot will attend various events, both on and off-site, to promote our brand and create a fun and dynamic environment.
But according to the LinkedIn listing these are no easy shoes to fill.
The position comes with 16 different responsibilities, including outlining Mr. & Mrs. Met’s unique personality traits, creating and executing mascot-related content for social media, and conducting and attending all Mascot training sessions and rehearsals.
The job also requires “proven experience as a mascot or in a similar role.”
And, of course, all must be done with “a high level of energy and enthusiasm, embodying the spirit of the New York Mets at all times.”
The job is broken down as follows (but may change based on season, performance, and game day schedules):
- Average of 20-25 administrative hours per week (in office)
- Average of 6-24 performance hours per week
The position’s salary ranges from $67.4K – $89K, and requires an audition which will take place on the evening of Wednesday, May 15th.

Mr. Met first appeared as a cartoon in 1963 before making his first live appearance in 1964. Mrs. Met was originally introduced in 1975 before being reintroduced in 2013.
