Girl Scout cookie season is arguably as longed for as the holiday season–and with all the cookie choices they have it’s easy to see why. But year after year we argue over which cookie is the best, and Google Trends is revealing the top picks.
According to Google Trends, New Yorkers can’t get enough of Thin Mints, making it the state’s most popular flavor. (Pro tip: they taste even better after spending some time in the freezer!)
Their data shows that Thin Mints account for 30% of cookie Google search traffic–that’s a lot of people searching for this deliciously mint/chocolate combo!
Runner up cookie contenders include Samoas, which account for 22% of search traffic, and Do-si-dos, which claim 11% of search traffic.
Funny enough, it seems as if Eastern and Western New York have different opinions and can’t agree on which cookie should take the cake (…wrong baked good, sorry).
While we’ve established that Eastern New York prefers Thin Mints, Western New York prefers Samoas–there’s just something about that caramel and coconut goodness that has gotten Westerner’s taste buds in a chokehold.
As it turns out, Thin Mints seem to be the top contender for the U.S. in general followed by Samoas, and that can only mean that us New Yorkers know what we’re talking about.
If your mouth is watering after reading this allow us to make it even worse (sorry not sorry): a brand new cookie has been unveiled–the Raspberry Rally!
A thin, crispy cookie infused with raspberry flavoring and dipped in chocolate coating, we’re curious to see where this cookie finds itself on this ranking next year!
