Dancers from all over the globe came together in NYC to disrobe and pose for photographer Jordan Matter’s book, Dancers After Dark.
Acclaimed photographer Jordan Matter traveled from London, to Paris, to NYC to capture candid photos of Dancers from all over the world completely naked in very public places. IN the introduction to his book he writes:
“I worked on Dancers After Dark exhaustively for two years, […] I was exhausted every week! I photographed hundreds of amazing performers in many cities and countries. It was the most rewarding creative experience of my life, and I was truly sorry to see it end.”
The photos below show the photographers amazing work here in NYC and they are completely mesmerizing. The imagined vulnerability of being completely naked in a public space is subverted by the strength and poise of the dancers. Visit Matters website for more information on his incredible book.
