Hells Angels Motorcycle Club will be moving out of their building on East 3rd Street this spring.
The club has called this building home for nearly 50 years and has certainly made their presence known over the course of that time. From alleged violence over parking issues for their motorcycles to government drug busts, there’s no denying this street (and neighborhood) has a lot of history behind it.
According to a recent report by EV Grieve, there’s a Memorandum of Contract on public record indicating that 77 East 3rd Street has been sold to a realty group. Signed by the president of the NYC Hells Angel chapter, Bartley J. Dowling, and purchaser Nathan Blatter of Whitestone Realty Group.
It’s uncertain what the developers will do with the building, but think it’s safe to assume it’ll become another new apartment complex in ever-gentrifying neighborhood.
