If you were planning to do any outdoor fall activities this weekend, you may want to reschedule. The season’s very first nor’easter could be hitting this weekend with plenty of rainfall.
According to the Weather Channel’s report, “before this weekend, a cold front will reinforce the chilly weather pattern that has gripped the East for the second half of October.” This will lead to those near-freezing temperatures we mentioned eariler this week!
The report goes on to say that “with another sharp, southward plunge of the jet stream arriving in the East by late week, a nor-easter may develop and threaten the East Coast this weekend.” So what does this mean for New Yorkers, exactly? Well, if the storm hits it would bring strong winds, rain, coastal flooding, and potentially mountain snow. The rain can begin as early as Friday.
If your halloween outfit doesn’t include a pair of rainboots, start thinking of a backup plan…maybe Georgie Denbrough would be the most practical costume this year? Fingers crossed the storm stays offshore!
