Klaar voor het feest?
De 2025 VMA’s staan voor de deur en we maken ons op voor wat ongetwijfeld een drukke avond wordt in NYC.
MTV’s iconische awardshow keert voor de tweede keer terug naar de UBS Arena in Elmont en er komen op 7 september heel wat artiesten langs. Na de festiviteiten van 2024 – een Sabrina Carpenter/alien smooch, middeleeuwse vibes van Chappell Roan en een backflip van Benson Boone, om er maar een paar te noemen – vermoeden we dat de aanwezigen de lat deze keer hoger zullen leggen.
De show begint deze zondag om 8/7C op CBS. Hier is de informatie:

LL Cool J treedt dit jaar op als gastheer en we zijn benieuwd wat hij voor ons in petto heeft.
Het stemmen voor de awards is geopend en muziekliefhebbers mogen maximaal 20 stemmen per dag uitbrengen. In al haar glorie staat New Yorker Lady Gaga aan de leiding met de meeste nominaties – 12!

Daarnaast worden een aantal artiesten dit jaar erkend voor hun muzikale prestaties: Busta Rhymes ontvangt de MTV VMA Rock the Bells Visionary Award en Ricky Martin ontvangt de Latin Icon Award. En popfans waren allemaal blij toen ze hoorden dat Mariah Carey de Video Vanguard Award zal ontvangen en “een show-stoppende, carrière-overspannende medley van haar grootste hits zal opvoeren”.
