Zin in een beetje zomerse cinema onder de sterren?

Oké, niet een beetje – heel erg. NYC Parks heeft officieel de geliefde line-up van “Movies Under the Stars” voor 2026 onthuld, en het seizoen van dit jaar is groter dan ooit. Van de lente tot de herfst zullen meer dan 300 gratis openluchtfilmvertoningen parken in alle vijf de stadsdelen omtoveren tot openluchtbioscopen, waarbij alles van nostalgische klassiekers tot nieuwe familiefavorieten rechtstreeks naar de lokale buurten wordt gebracht.

Of je nu met vrienden een deken uitspreidt, afhaalmaaltijden inpakt voor een picknick bij zonsondergang, of je favoriete feelgoodfilm herbeleeft onder de skyline, de jaarlijkse reeks is uitgegroeid tot een van de leukste tradities van New York City bij warm weer. Het programma van dit jaar bevat publiekslievelingen als Wicked, Encanto, Lilo & Stitch en Dirty Dancing, naast indie-films, documentaires, studentenpresentaties en zelfs een voetbalserie met het WK-thema.

En in een zomer waarin zo ongeveer alles duur aanvoelt, blijft dit een van de leukste gratis avondjes uit in de stad: kom gewoon langs, zoek een plekje op het gras en laat het park voor de avond je bioscoop worden.
