The final Presidential Debate was last night (did you get a chance to play our bingo card?), and it wasn’t long before President Donald Trump mentioned his dear hometown — NYC.
“If you go ahead and look at what happened in New York, it’s a ghost town…There are businesses that are dying,” he said while talking about the effect of coronavirus in Democratic states. “Take a look at New York and what’s happened at my wonderful city. For so many years I loved, it was vibrant, it’s dying. Everyone’s leaving New York.”
Well, New Yorkers were quick to jump on social media and declare how NYC is definitely NOT a ghost town right now.
Of course businesses have suffered, but New York still has one of the lowest positivity rates and with outdoor dining in full effect, parks and museums back open, etc., it’s pretty alive.
One thing’s for sure, you can always count on New Yorkers to defend their city — and for a healthy dose of sass. Enjoy:

Hey, just in case it needs to be said: I'm out in NYC every day, and I promise you, it's not a ghost town or an anarchist war zone. We're fine. I got a fresh croissant from the sweet auntie who runs the nearby coffee shop literally this morning. I didn't get Mad Maxed even once.

Trump said NYC is a ghost town. @realDonaldTrump baby unless you’re talking about all the matches I’ve ghosted on tinder, you couldn’t be more wrong.

Maybe Trump called NYC a ghost town because he saw me eating alone at that Thai restaurant the other night. #debates

Can confirm I still live in nyc, not a ghost town. Unless this is some weird Sixth Sense illusion, but that would be a big twist

It's true that NYC is a ghost town. Not because of covid, it's just that we're taking Halloween prep extra seriously this year

I guess you could consider NYC a ghost town if when you visit you only go to Times Square and eat pizza at Sbarro #Debates2020
