Start spreading the news, I’m leaving today…
Now’s the time to brush up on those iconic lyrics! Because New Yorkers are planning a giant sing-along to Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York,” aka the theme song of New York City, for tonight!
Everyone will join in song right after the usual 7pm clap that now takes place to thank essential workers for their service.
According to a Facebook event that appeared, the tribute is being organized by New York Sings Along, a project of The Peace of Heart Choir, which performs free concerts in hospitals, nursing homes and more all over NYC. They hope to continue the tradition in future weeks and perhaps get a radio station involved to coordinate timing.
They will start a Facebook LIVE feed from their page around 6:45pm tonight to kick things off right after 7.
Practice below and be sure to tag us @secret_nyc if you’re able to catch a video!
