New York sports fans have a reason to celebrate as Gotham Advanced Media and Entertainment (GAME) prepares to launch the Gotham Sports App, set to debut before the 2024-25 NBA and NHL seasons. This app promises to be a comprehensive hub for fans, merging MSG+ and the YES Network into one seamless platform.
What’s the Gotham Sports App?
The Gotham Sports app will provide a unified experience for fans to follow their favorite New York teams.
This includes the Knicks, Nets, Rangers, Islanders, Devils, Sabres, and Yankees (games from the NBA, MLB, and NHL).
This news comes after a special postseason by teams such as Knicks or Rangers, in their effort to go all the way in this upcoming season.
By combining the MSG+ and YES apps, this new platform simplifies access to fans within the regional coverage area who subscribe to MSG and YES through their pay-TV services.
Subscribers will be able to access the app at no additional cost, providing a hassle-free experience.
How much does the Gotham Sports App cost?
For those without a traditional TV subscription, the Gotham Sports App offers flexible subscription plans.
Fans can opt for an annual subscription to both MSG+ and YES for $359.99, or a monthly plan for $41.99.
Alternatively, individual subscriptions are available, with MSG+ costing $279.99 annually or $29.99 monthly, and YES available for $239.99 annually or $24.99 monthly.
Additionally, single-game passes for $9.99 are also available.
What’s new in the Gotham Sports App?
The Gotham Sports App is not just about live game coverage. It will include an advanced live stats package that provides real-time data and analytics for an enhanced viewing experience.
In addition, the app will feature a loyalty program, with reward points for engaged users. However, if you prefer to watch these sports live, the Yankees have announced their upcoming giveaway schedule before the postseason.
The existing MSG+ and YES apps will be phased out with the launch of The Gotham Sports App.
When will the Gotham Sports App debut?
With the NHL season starting on October 4 and the NBA season starting on October 22, the Gotham Sports app will launch sometime in the fall, before both competitions begin.
New York sports fans can look forward to an all-in-one solution for their sports entertainment. The Gotham Sports app is poised to become the go-to platform for NYC fans, offering convenience, flexibility, and a state-of-the-art viewing experience.
