Chicha Cafetin and Coctails already has us looking forward to warmer days ahead. Their tropical interior and delicious Nicaraguan food and rum based drinks are true summer GOALS.
A new tropical inspired restaurant and bar has hopped onto the New York City food scene this week in Bushwick. The bar is enormous and focuses on rum and mixes of Latin style liquor. Accoring to Grubstreet,
“Chicha’s cocktails draw on Caribbean tastes, and some feature a generous and intriguing mix of boozes. Take the “Agua-Caté-Dral,” with tequila, mezcal, pisco, and Bolivian liquor Singani 63, flash-blended with avocado, salt, and lime. Then there’s the “Nitro Cafecito” with cold brew, cherry liqueur, cacao, amaro, and nitrogen-laced Flor de Cana rum.”
Obviously the food is delicious and varies from options like Lobster quesillo with squid-ink tortilla to Pork belly comes with orange mojo sauce.
Marshall Altier, the partner who runs the bar is a rum enthusiast who has at least 100 bottles on hand at any time. Working with tropical and subtropical ingredients like hibiscus and tepache, he creates amazing cocktails coming in at a fair price with drinks available for $11.
This place is definitely set to be a summer time favorite!
