According to a new national study, New York City is the most expensive city for raising a family… and you’ll be shocked by how much the disparity is costing NYC families per year.
It’s not news to anyone reading this that NYC is an expensive city. According to a new study by Zillow and Care.com, the disparity in the cost of living for NYC families compared to it’s suburbs’ is the highest in the nation, three times higher that the second placed city, Chicago. As if that were’t bad enough, if you were to move your families to NYC’s suburbs you could save $71,237 annually.
Family here is being defined as having two children in childcare, as the study took into account cost of said care, mortgage payments, property taxes as well as assessing the cost of living in other metropolitan areas. See the infographic bellow or check out Zillow’s article HERE.
