The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is the epitome of Thanksgiving in NYC, getting us all officially into holiday mode.
Year after year we’re blown away by all the amazing–and gigantic–balloons we see floating through the city. And while we can always count on our returning favs, we’re also surprised with new ones each year!
Here are the new balloons you’ll see parading through the city streets this Thanksgiving:
Bluey
Bluey is the lovable dog from the global hit tv-show, coming to NYC all the way from Australia!
- 52 feet tall
- 51 feet long
- 37 feet wide (that’s the width of 7 taxi cabs!)
Diary of A Wimpy Kid®
Though Greg Heffley, the star of the best-selling book series Diary of A Wimpy Kid, has been in the parade 12 times already, this will be his first time in the parade as a giant balloon.
- 39 feet tall
- 45 feet long
- 23 feet wide
Stuart the Minion
Everyone’s favorite minion will be making his parade debut and, most likely, causing some mischief along the way!
- 37 feet tall
- 40 feet long
- 28 feet wide
DINO and Baby DINO
DINO and Baby DINO will also make their debut as a giant balloon.
- 49 feet tall
- 68 feet long
- 26 feet wide
Striker the U.S. Soccer Star (balloonicle)
Though not a giant balloon, Striker, the U.S. soccer star, will also be making its parade debut as a balloonicle.
- 25 feet tall
- 25 feet long
- 10 feet wide
These new balloons will, of course, join returning favorites, such as Astronaut Snoopy by PEANUTS Worldwide, The Boss Baby from DreamWorks Animation, Chase from PAW Patrol® by Nickelodeon, Pillsbury Doughboy™ by Pillsbury™, and Papa Smurf from The Smurfs™ by Nickelodeon.
Whether you’re lucky (and brave) enough to bare the cold to see the parade in person, or you watch it on TV in the warmth of your home while getting started on your Thanksgiving day feast, one things for sure–the Thanksgiving Day Parade is definitely a spectacle that cannot be missed!
