With an excessive heat warning in effect and temperatures expected to remain well in the 90s through this Saturday, there’s never been a better time to head to one of NYC’s sunny beaches–besides, according to this new study two of New York’s beaches are pretty famous on social media!
Summer is, after all, all about flexing your beach trips and sunny vacays on Instagram, right? But you obviously want to make sure you’re hitting all the most picture-perfect places to sink your toes in the sand.
Well, according to this study by luggage storage company Bounce, Brooklyn’s Coney Island and East Hampton’s Main Beach are the 4th and 6th must-see beaches in the U.S. on TikTok respectively.
To compile the list, Bounce looked at a list of beaches in the U.S. using info from various sites. They then recorded the total number of hashtag views for each beach on TikTok on June 16th, and the total number of hashtagged posts for each beach on Instagram on June 19th.
And while New York’s beaches didn’t take the number one spot (though, in our humble opinion, they definitely should have!) they still scored pretty damn high.
Two New York beaches even found themselves on the must-see beaches list when looking at the hashtags people use on Instagram, with Brooklyn’s Coney Island again ranking, this time in 6th, and Queens’ Rockaway Beach coming in at 20th.
Now, as much as us New Yorkers take pride in our city, we won’t deny seeing Florida’s South Beach in the top 3 (and actually coming in at the number one spot according to Instagram)! Looks like we’ll have to pay our friends over in Miami a visit this summer!
