The MTA Memorabilia & Collectibles Pop-Up Shop is making its way to Brooklyn this October, and you wouldn’t want a chance to score an authentic piece of your favorite city.
While sure, there are plenty of replicas from local artisans, these are the real thing! And there just might be something up for grabs from your neighborhood.

ICYMI, our transit system is in for a bit of a change — OMNY will soon phase out the MetroCard — so if you want to hold onto this particular point in time, you’ll need to act quickly.
On Thursday, October 16th and Friday, October 17th, the shop will assemble its unique finds outside — signs, lights, seats, speedometers, and other transit-themed memorabilia — that you can’t snag on the MTA Shop.
This unique tradition began four years ago, and there are a few things to keep in mind before shopping:
- A waiver is required; you should print and sign before arrival
- There are no processing fees
- Only Visa and Mastercard payments will be accepted
- Items are not available for shipping; it’s pick-up only
- The public and MTA employees are welcome
- Each shopper has only 45 minutes to find their items
We hate to say it, but we’re wondering if the MetroCard will be one of the smaller accessories up for grabs this year. After all, we only have three months left of the MetroCard before it disappears for good. Truthfully, we’re going to hang onto as many as we can as we brace for this change we’re not sure we’re ready for.
