Despite an old study sharing that Times Square was the most Instagrammable spot in NYC, this new survey shares a different answer for tourists. Apparently, Central Park took the number one spot for the most Instagrammable tourist attraction in NYC.
Places To Travel conducted the study by analyzing hashtags to determine the most Instagrammable spot in NYC. Results found 8.4 million posts related to Central Park—more hashtags than any other attraction across the entire state!
According to Central Park reports, the beautiful green oasis in Manhattan gets 42 million visitors annually.
And though Times Square might have been the first place to come to mind, it actually ranked second in the study with 5.2 million posts under the hashtag. Around 360,000 people explore the 11,600 square feet of Times Square daily.
Not far behind Times Square is the Empire State Building with 4.4 million hashtags and 4 million visitors each year. After that is the Brooklyn Bridge with 4.1 million hashtags and 30,000 pedestrians daily.
“For many, social media and Instagram in particular, is an important factor when it comes to picking a vacation destination. This study offers a fascinating insight into the tourist spots in New York that prove to be the most popular for social media users with iconic buildings and parks ranking highly in the results,” shared a spokesperson from Places to Travel.
