Everlasting things are having a moment. After Cj Hendry’s viral Everlasting Flower Market proved New Yorkers love florals that never wilt, the MoMA Design Store is jumping on the trend—this time serving up faux food in a limited-time pop-up that looks good enough to eat (but definitely isn’t).
Starting Wednesday, January 7 the MoMA Design Store is debuting MoMA Mart, a limited-time pop-up that transforms the idea of grocery shopping into a playful design experience. Think supermarket vibes, but make it art: all eye candy, zero expiration dates.
MoMA Mart is unlike any supermarket you’ve ever wandered into–mainly because nothing is actually edible. Every item looks real but is completely fake, blurring the line between function, illusion, and “wait…is that bread?” Inspired by artists in MoMA’s collection–including Pop Art icons like Claes Oldenburg and Ed Ruscha–the pop-up celebrates food as form through bold, whimsical design.

Shoppers can browse everything from:
- Kitchen tools
- Home décor
- Playful food-inspired objects
Plus standout exclusives like:
- The L’expressionist Tomato Table Lamp
- Happy Organics beeswax candles
- Scandals Scented Candles
- Fluid Market food vases
- Goober Sandwich and Pizza clocks
- Third Drawer Down Food Stools
- &Klevering Salt and Pepper Shakers
MoMA Mart invites visitors to experience the joy, humor, and surprise good design can bring to everyday life from January 7 through March 29, 2026. Even better? All proceeds support the museum and its programming–so yes, shopping here is technically cultural enrichment.

As Emmanuel Plat, Director of Merchandising at The Museum of Modern Art, puts it:
Food has always been a powerful cultural force, and designers are embracing it in fresh, imaginative ways. MoMA Mart brings that creativity to life while drawing a line back to MoMA’s own history of collecting faux-food objects that blur the boundaries between art, humor and daily experience.
