The music of Mister Softee’s ice cream truck is essentially a New Yorker’s alarm clock for the warmer season, though a hot summer’s day without bumping into the ice cream truck can be a sad, sad day. But did you know that you can actually track exactly where Mister Softee is in NYC?!
No, this isn’t a drill!
You don’t have to wait to hear the beloved ice cream truck jingle to get your hands on some soft serve–you can track down Mister Softee yourself using an app!
The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play–so yes, even if you’re a dreaded Android user (sorry, not sorry) you can find out where Mister Softee is in real time.
After downloading the app you can choose to make an account if you wish (though you don’t have to) and then give the app permission to use your location. You’ll then be able to put in your zip code and see a map of all the closest Mister Softee trucks to you–and if you click each one you can even see how long they’ve been on the road for!
And, in addition to just seeing where each truck is, you can also browse each truck’s menu before heading over.
