Say what?!
Yes, marijuana is still illegal in New York. However, that hasn’t stopped MedMen from opening a flagship store on Manhattan’s fanciest street, Fifth Avenue.
MedMen, a high-end medical marijuana dispensary chain, opens today on the cannabis-centric holiday 420. The 2,000-square-foot space will be set up like an Apple Store; hence why it’s often referred to as “The Apple Store of Weed.” And while recreational marijuana is illegal, the store will sell what they can within New York’s current laws. This means if you’re a licensed medical marijuana user you can purchase from their line of vaporizer pens, tinctures, and gel caps.
If you don’t have a medical marijuana card you can still stop in and check out the store. According to a press release, MedMen will be one of only three dispensaries legally allowed to operate in Manhattan, and will be one of four MedMen locations in the state.
Located at 433 Fifth Avenue, they will offer customers a “premium cannabis shopping experience.”
