Brooklynites, get ready! Another winter festival is opening at the Brooklyn Museum in November.
Most of the winter villages and holiday markets we hear about are within Manhattan, but for one month this winter Brooklyn will have its very own WinterFest to gear up for the holidays.
Opening on November 23, the 40,000-square-foot space will feature an Angels Market, tastings, eateries, live entertainment, and holiday parties. The market itself will boast “50 charming holiday-decorated wooden chalets” selling everything from traditional holiday decor to local products that would make for wonderfully unique gifts. There also appears to be an ice rink planned into the map!
WinterFest will have something for everyone in the family, including fabulous photo opps in their giant snow globe as well as activities like a holiday scavenger hunt, photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, an enchanted maze, and chocolate tasting in their Candy Dome! On Thursday nights specifically there will be Karaoke and “Santa Pet Nights,” too.
As you prance around the open-air market don’t forget about the vin chaud (mulled wine)! Along with the seasonal treats you can grab you’ll want to keep warm with a hot chocolate or “Steaming cup” of mulled wine.
