And it’s marvelous to say the least!
Aux Merveilleux de Fred (Marvelous by Fred) is an iconic French bakery created by French pastry chef, Frédéric Vaucamps. The bakery is a celebrated name throughout France and it just opened an incredible U.S. flagship right here in NYC!
And though this isn’t the first Aux Merveilleux de Fred in NYC—there’s already a West Village location—the new flagship is supposed to be incroyable!

Frédéric Vaucamps made a name for himself all thanks to his reimagining of the classic Merveilleux (a more than a century old confection originating in Belgium & France that is made from sandwiching sweet meringue with whipped cream and dusted in chocolate shavings).

His personal recipe, resulting in a lighter Merveilleux offered in a variety of flavors, forever changed the dessert’s reputation and made it a popular treat all across France.
The new location features delicious versions of the Merveilleux cake, varying in size from mini to regular. Some flavors include:
Le Merveilleux – Dark Belgian Chocolate
L’ Incroyable – White Chocolate & Speculoos
L’ Impensable – Coffee
Le Sans-Culotte – Caramel
L’ Excentrique – Cherry

Visitors can watch the Merveilleux making magic right before their eyes as the chefs work in plain sight!
The flagships design showcases a stunning crystal chandelier to match its elegant interior that will whisk you away to the likes of boutique pastry shops in Northern France.

See the stunning new space for yourself and indulge in this airy, sugary confection that will leave you wanting all Merveilleux iterations!
