Coney Island’s Luna Park officially reopened for the season in March. However, the park will debut its brand new Go-Kart attraction this Friday, May 24th.
Called Electric Eden Raceway, adrenaline junkies will get to drive NYC’s very first electric-powered Go–Karts! It’s name hails from Luna Park’s original nickname, “Electric Eden,” due to all of the park’s impressive lights.
Through the racetrack’s video mapping gamification, drivers will be locked in for an epic experience from the starting point to the finish line. The track spans 900 feet per lap with “speed bumps,” simulated “mud” and other obstacles. LED lights will decorate the raceway, along with state-of-the-art technology. Visitors will be able to control their speed settings, making Electric Eden Raceway perfect for both daredevils and children alike.
Electric Eden Raceway opens on Friday, May 24th at 10:30am. The first ride will launch at 11am.
Beyond the new raceway, Luna Park’s arcade is getting a major upgrade and there will be two new retail locations on the property. But of course, the classics will still be there to entertain like the Thunderbolt (turning 10 years old this June) and the Cyclone.
