A fun, wildly retro Elvis-themed pop-up bar is coming to NYC for two days only this fall, transporting guests straight to Graceland’s iconic Jungle Room.
Aptly dubbed Love Me (Bar)Tender, music lovers, pop-culture fans, and Elvis aficionados will get to sip on Elvis-themed cocktails, jam out to music from Memphis bands, and commemorate the experience in a photobooth.
The Jungle Room made its iconic debut in 1965 at Graceland. Used by Elvis and the Presleys as a den, the room served as a reminder of Elvis’ time in Hawaii, one of his favorite vacation spots.
Elvis recorded songs such as Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain and Moody Blue at Graceland for what became known as “The Jungle Room sessions.”
Those who step inside the Jungle Room can experience the unforgettable green shag carpet–which lent itself to the room’s excellent acoustics–rock waterfall, and of course, lacquered tiki bar firsthand.
“The ‘Love Me (Bar)Tender’ pop-up will be a unique experience that is not to be missed,” said Regena Bearden, Chief Marketing Officer at Memphis Tourism. “Whether you’re an Elvis fan who grew up listening to his music, or someone who loves pop-up Instagrammable experiences – there’s something to this activation for everyone.”
Today, Graceland is one of the most famous homes in the US, averaging about a half-million visitors annually–and with this pop-up New Yorkers won’t even have to travel to see it for themselves!
Love Me (Bar)Tender will pop-up in New York for two days this fall, on Thursday, October 5 and Friday, October 6. Entrance is free with advance registration (sign up here for deets).
The exact location will be announced in September.
