There’s been plenty of buzz on Fifth Avenue this holiday season, and we can credit Louis Vuitton for the excitement.
Though the luxury brand is currently renovating its NYC flagship location — as evidenced by the building’s full-length luggage trunk façade — that doesn’t mean the holidays are on hold. From now until December 25th, the larger-than-life display will illuminate “The Louis Vuitton Visual Symphony” from 5 to 10pm nightly, with four-minute shows that repeat every half hour. Expect a menagerie decked out in holiday hats gliding across the snow, all while the brand’s emblem imitates flurries cascading down.
According to a Louis Vuitton press release, “The animation begins with a bold burst of vibrant colors and mesmerizing movements based on the Damier pattern from the 1880s, before settling into a rich, sapphire blue.”
As of late, the fashion powerhouse has been a hot topic of conversation, and not just for its festive celebrations. Le Café, Louis Vuitton’s neighboring library café, opened in November 2024 at 6 East 57th Street to plenty of fanfare (and completely booked tables). It’s covered in wall-to-wall books (over 600!) and boasts an elegant Art Deco vibe with nods to Parisian culture. Michelin-star chef Christophe Bellanca and pastry chef Mary George, who hails from DANIEL, are the ones in the kitchen offering up a “luxury dining experience” that’s truly a feast for the senses.
New destinations aside, the Louis Vuitton store swooped in at the right time after hearts broke everywhere learning that the nearby Saks holiday light show had been cancelled for 2024. (Don’t worry, its holiday window display is still up and running.) Thanks to the “Visual Symphony”, the glamorous street is still illuminated with a fun and engaging display, despite a major cancellation from Saks.
“The magical adventure on 5th Avenue connects with Louis Vuitton windows worldwide, which all feature an enchanted carousel theme, including the recently opened temporary flagship 57th Street NYC located across 57th street,” the press release adds.
All in all, we’d say this is a pretty eventful way for “Millionaire’s Row” to ring in its 200th anniversary, don’t you think? We’ll see you there.
