The LEGO Botanical Garden Pop-Up has pulled into town, and it’s ready to dazzle visitors with sunny brick blooms. Do you have a vase ready?
To coincide with the New York Botanical Garden’s new exhibit, “Van Gogh: Painting With Flowers” — and its stunning evening drone show — garden enthusiasts will be able to craft a unique brick bouquet of their own.
No need to tell us twice! We’ll be there to enjoy florals in all forms.
LEGO Botanical Garden Pop-Up at NYBG
On May 23rd (Members’ Day), May 24th, and May 25th while supplies last, guests are invited to take a stroll through the LEGO Botanical Garden Pop-Up on the NYBG grounds and craft a brick-built mini Van Gogh sunflower creation. What better way to celebrate the artist’s iconic work and floral of choice?
We don’t know about you, but we believe this time of the year calls for blooms of all sorts — real and brick form. A pitstop to the LEGO truck is free with admission to the grounds, so might as well take advantage.
As far as the exhibit goes, there’s plenty of beauty to soak in upon arrival. “Painting With Flowers” drenches the Bronx attraction in a yellow paradise with a field of real and sculptural sunflowers. Those venturing inside the Conservatory will find artist Amy Jacobsen’s 3D pieces mirroring Van Gogh’s irises, imperial fritillaries, oleanders, and roses. There’s also opportunity to immerse yourself in creative activities inspired by the exhibit, such as “Plein Air Drop-In and Paint.”
As far as evenings go, Van Gogh-themed drone shows — New York City’s first at a cultural institution — will bring “Starry Night” to life, and you wouldn’t want to miss a second of the stunning affair. Get tickets here.
