New York’s 2023 Korean Festival will return to 17th St. between Broadway & Park Avenue this Sunday, October 23rd. Put on by the Korean American Association of Greater New York (KAAGNY), the event has been celebrating Korean culture in NYC for 44 years.
The annual tradition relocated in 2021 from K-Town to Union Square, where it will be held for a third year this 2023 season.
Last year’s street festival featured delicious food vendors, entertaining performances & activities including K-pop and Ssireum (Korean wrestling), and the chance to win a free trip to Korea, courtesy of Korean Air. 2018 Miss Korea, Soo Min Kim, was even the event’s emcee.
This year we can expect more incredible food vendors and performances. Plus, visitors have the chance to win a pair of tickets to two different K-concerts!
KAAGNY is a non-profit organization connecting Korean Americans and advocating for the best interest of diasporic Koreans in NYC. Additionally, the KAAGNY serves as a link to 500 other Korean American organizations that assist in providing education, community outreach, vocational help and more to Korean Americans of all ages.
They even offer Korean classes for those interested in learning, with courses during all four seasons. See more about their online language program here.
Visitors can explore Korean Culture in the heart of NYC through food, dance and beyond at the 2023 event.
The festival is free and open to everyone. You can RSVP here.
