If you find yourself in Lower Manhattan looking for something that’s finger lickin’ good, you’ll be ecstatic to know that a brand new KFC just opened up in Chinatown. The new location spans 2,000 sq ft. at 275 Canal Street.
According to the press release, the Canal restaurant “features a unique KFC design aesthetic, that represents the distinctness of the community.” The location will be equipped for today’s high demand of online orders, Quick Pick-up, and delivery.
Though the restaurant is still hiring, it has already added 20 part-time and full-time jobs for residents in the area. Moreover, it will participate in KFC’s Harvest food donation program, packaging leftover food to give to a local charity.
The restaurant will also partner with a local hunger relief organization, thanks to the help of Food Donation Connection (FDC), to provide food for those in need through community feeding programs.
The company has been combatting hunger and food waste for over 20 years with Harvest, the first prepared food donation program in the world. And as of today, KFC has donated more than 87 million meals to nearly 4,000 nonprofits across the nation.
