New Yorkers, we’ve reached that point in January. The holiday lights are down, the skies are a dull, lifeless shade of grey, and our radiators are making that specific “clanging” sound that haunts our dreams. All that’s to say we’re in desperate need of a vacation. Thankfully, JetBlue has heard our cries for help.
In a move that’s equal parts chaotic and legendary, the airline just announced a massive winter sale where the flights are–wait for it–100% free. Before you start packing your carry-on and sprinting to JFK, there is a catch (and it’s a nautical one).
Here’s the deal:
$0 Airfare…But What’s The Catch?
JetBlue Vacations is currently offering zero dollar base airfare on round-trip flights. The catch: you have to bundle that flight with a Royal Caribbean cruise package.
Basically, if you book the cruise through JetBlue’s Flight + Cruise portal, they’ll wipe the cost of the flight off your tab. While you still have to pay the taxes and fees on the flight–because is anything in life ever truly free?–the actual seat is $0.

The Math (It’s Actually Pretty Good)
Usually, bundled deals feel like a scam, but this one kind of hits different.
Packages are starting as low as $375 per person. That gets you a three-night Caribbean cruise and your round-trip airfare from NYC to the port. For context, $375 is roughly the price of an Uber from your apartment to JFK during a thunderstorm–so, we’d say it’s a steal.
Where Can You Go?
Unlike many cruises that seem to all end in the Bahamas, you’re not just limited to the Lucayan Archipelago (yes, we had to Google that). The “free flight” discount applies to a massive range of Royal Caribbean sailings, including:
- The Caribbean
- The Mexican Riviera
- Alaska
- Europe

The Fine Print
Because we’re New Yorkers, we know there’s certainly more than meets the eye with this deal. Here’s what you need to know:
- The Deadline: you have to book by today–Friday, January 16th. After that, the deal vanishes like a subway seat during rush hour
- The Travel Window: as long as you book by the 16th, you can schedule the actual vacation for almost any time (typically up to 11 months out)
- Blackout Dates: yes–they do exist
- No Code Needed: the discount is applied automatically at checkout when you bundle the flight and cruise
Is It Worth It?
If you were already planning on cruising the sea this year, we’d say the deal is a no-brainer. And if you’re a “flight only” person, this might be the excuse you need to finally embrace your inner “vacation dad” and drink a piña colada on a boat.
You can snag the deal over at JetBlue Vacations.
