Game 5 is happening tonight at Madison Square Garden, and Jalen Brunson and the crew are down 3-1 in the series with their backs against the wall.
If you’re like us, and totally freaking out, we might have something that will take (a little bit at least) the pain away: a signature sandwich named after Clutch Player of the Year, Jalen Brunson.
That’s right, the Knicks superstar guard officially has his own sandwich named after him that he personally selected to be the best!
In a recent campaign with DoorDash, the All-Star sat down with iconic NYC rapper and foodie Action Brunson to help select one of three sandwich entries that would be dubbed “The Brunson” sandwich.
The three restaurants that entered?
Comfortland in Astoria with roasted chicken, avocado, arugula slaw, spicy mayo, and hot pepper jelly on semolina bread, Win Son Bakery in Williamsburg with fried chicken leg, tiger sauce, and pickled peppers on a sesame milk bun, and the ultimate winner Court Street Grocers in Brooklyn which he deemed a “slick crossover” and “buzzer beater” that “put the contest into overtime.”
The deli’s culinary director Ted Rosen told The New York Post that the hero’s concoction was very well curated since Brunson doesn’t eat cheese, bacon, or beef.
“They gave us a few guidelines to follow in terms of what Jalen likes, what Jalen doesn’t like, and we kind of worked within those,” Rosen told The Post.

How to order “The Brunson” sandwich in NYC
The sandwich is available now at all three Court Street Grocers locations — Carroll Gardens, Williamsburg and Greenwich Village.
It’s also available to order exclusively on DoorDash from the restaurant, which Knicks fans can do tonight without even having to leave the couch. (That is if you’re not hitting up a Knicks watch party).
“The Brunson” comes with a $20 price tag both in-store and on the app!
