’90s babies wasted no time when it came to the Dawson’s Creek cast reunion.
Fans suspected an event of sorts when the OG stars James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes, and Joshua Jackson teased an announcement via an old-school Polaroid. The photo’s message read, “If we were truly meant to be, then we’ll find a way back to each other.”
And that they did: the one-night-only cast reunion went on sale on August 22nd, with tickets ranging from $199 to $2,500, and sold out in 12 minutes. The NYC-based event will take place this September at the Richards Roberts Theater and benefit the charity F Cancer, and in turn, show support for Van Der Beek, who is currently battling the disease.
“We grew up in Capeside and that’s a bond that will last a lifetime,” Williams said, according to Variety. “We wanted to gather around our dear friend James and remind him that we are all here. We always have been and we always will be. And I know the fans of Dawson’s Creek feel the same way.”
Fans will be in for a treat: a reading of the 1998 pilot episode.
Though unfortunately the tickets went quickly, the show’s devotees can still show support by donating to the charity. And if you still have a hankering for a performance, you’re in luck: 22 productions will participate in the free Founded by Broadway concert this September and take advantage of 2-for-1 ticket deals during Broadway Week(yes that even includes Hamilton).
