Ice Castles at Lake George is open once again for the season, and the opportunity to explore ice caverns, slides, mazes, tunnels, and alcoves is for sure enough to talk you into embarking on the 3.5 hour drive from NYC!
Built entirely by hand using hundreds of thousands of icicles hand-picked by professional ice artists, this ice wonderland features LED-lit sculptures, fountains, and frozen thrones.
There’s even a Polar Pub, a frosty ice bar where you can order a winter-themed alcoholic drink to (hopefully) help warm you from the inside out while you chill out in the coolest bar in town.
Each year, Ice Castles brings fairytales to life and this immersive experience has five locations across the U.S. (Utah, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and New Hampshire) with Lake George being its most recent one.
General admission tickets start at $22 for weekdays and $29 for weekends and give you access to the entire experience including the chance to walk beneath archways of massive icicles, get lost in a maze of ice tunnels, race down ice slides, and squeeze through tight tunnels made entirely of ice.
And, for those looking for a bit more, you can reserve a private experience in a VIP alcove, the perfect option for a special occasion.
The VIP experience includes:
- A private area roped off from the public
- 6 tickets to the ice castles
- 2 souvenir photos
- A 20% merchandise discount
Lake George’s Ice Castles will is open now through Monday, February 20. They’re open every day except Tuesday.
