NYC’s funky, climbable art installation the Vessel is finally back open!
After closing in March due to COVID-19, you can finally climb your way back up 150 feet to take in amazing views of the city, the Hudson River, and beyond.
The Vessel was finished last spring and quickly became the hallmark of Hudson Yards, a brand new shopping and dining destination on the West Side of Manhattan.
It’s known for its unique honeycomb shape, designed by Thomas Heatherwick, and is comprised of 154 intricately interconnecting flights of stairs — almost 2,500 individual steps and 80 landings.
Of course, it makes for some pretty amazing photo ops:
And it’s complete free to visit! You can reserve your tickets on their website here. Hours are 11am-7pm. And of course, there are new safety regulations like reduced capacity, a one-way travel system, and social distancing markers.
Don’t forget, its neighbor, the EDGE observation deck, is back open now too!
