The days are warming up, the streets are getting livelier, and the sun is shining. And you know what that means–it’s outdoor market season! Adding to NYC’s already overflowing list of great outdoor markets is Harlem Bazaar, which will make its debut Sunday, May 7.
One thing’s for sure–we’re ready to spend alllll our money!
The monthly series will feature a mixture of the city’s best creators, designers, inventors, artists, and visionaries, selling everything from unique clothing and hand-crafted jewelry to tasty bites and intriguing artwork.
“The Harlem Bazaar idea started during the pandemic when we saw a 400% increase in applications from merch, arts & culture, fashion, and self-care-based businesses – mostly by women entrepreneurs. The team and I know that this second season at the State Plaza will solidify the best creative event in Uptown. Hands down,” says Marco Shalma, the founder of Harlem Bazaar.
Essentially, the market is a showcase of the best of Uptown’s food, art, and music scene in the great outdoors.
The market will take place each month, and with 40 vendors gathering together the variety of creative goods gives shoppers plentyyyy of options to choose from.
And, to further entertain you on your shopping journey (or simply to distract you from spending all your money), the market will also feature music performances that intend to keep Harlem’s vibrant scene alive!
Plus, kids have their very own fun to look forward to at the Kids’ Corner, where they’ll be able to enjoy entertainment, yard games, and other fun activities while you shop til you drop.
The first iteration of Harlem Bazaar will take place Sunday, May 7th, from 11 a.m. through 5 p.m. and will return on the first Sunday of each month through October. Admission is completely free.
