The Guggenheim just trolled the White House, and it’s epic.
For display in their private living quarters at the White House, President Trump and the First Lady asked the Guggenheim if they could borrow a Van Gogh piece. According to the Washington Post, the Guggenheim Museum’s chief curator Nancy Spector instead offered:
“an 18-karat, fully functioning, solid gold toilet — an interactive work titled “America” that critics have described as pointed satire aimed at the excess of wealth in this country.”
The Van Gogh painting being asked for is “Landscape With Snow,” which features a man in a black hat walking with his dog.
The White House apparently turned down the counteroffer.
