Finished with spring cleaning and realized you’re in need of an entire new wardrobe? Good news: Gucci just opened its newest Manhattan store just in time!
Ok, so maybe it’s not the most practical place to pick up an entire new wardrobe, but we can dream at least! And with its gorgeous interiors, we most definitely can have a look.
The bi-level, 9,000-square-foot retail space stands on the corner of W 14th Street and 9th Avenue in the Meatpacking District. Influenced by New York City and Florence, the store’s design elements tastefully and simultaneously contradict and complement each other.
With grid-patterned metal mesh ceilings drawing on the Meatpacking’s industrial vibe juxtaposed with painted flooring reminiscent of Florentine marble motifs, the two cities, both crucial to the House’s 102-year history, are honored and represented.
Pops of color, vintage mid-century furnishings and mirrored surfaces breathe life into the 1970s-esque aesthetic.
The neighborhood’s vibrant nature and eclecticism made it the perfect choice to set up shop for the House. Customers can find a wide selection of opulent shoes, handbags and luggage for both men and women, in addition to Gucci beauty products on the ground floor.
After climbing the curved staircase, shoppers will be greeted with an exclusive, ready-to-wear area dedicated to private appointments.
Sustainability was prioritized throughout the construction of Gucci Meatpacking, following the company’s commitment to further their green efforts throughout their retail network.
Second-hand furnishings and walls are covered in Demetra, an animal-free, environmentally conscious textile introduced by Gucci. Silipol, a 100% recyclable cement, can be found in the floors as archival fabrics from past collections decorate the fitting rooms.
So whether you’re planning to splurge or just want to get a look inside, it’s sure to be an experience!
