From January 16- 24, Grand Central will host one of the world’s largest and most important squash tournaments.
Every year, the world’s best squash players come to New York to compete in an all-glass enclosure in Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall. The “World Professional Squash Championships” which is now known as the Tournament of Champions has been staged in the U.S. since 1930 and has been taking place at Grand Central since 1999. This year marks Grand Central Terminal’s 22nd year as host of the event.
The tournament features both male and female athletes and hosts players from all over the world. The event is free to watch if you’re just passing through but if you’re a hardcore fan, you can purchase a ticket to access the comfort (and better views) of the seating area.
