Next Wednesday, Slice Out Hunger returns for its ninth year with $1 slices from some of the best pizza makers around NYC.
This year’s event is expected to be the largest $1 pizza party in history, with 60 of New York’s most renowned pizzerias attending. Restaurants like Lombardi’s, Di Fara, and Lucali—which don’t normally sell by the slice—will take part in this year’s epic festivities.
Slice Out Hunger was founded by Scott Wiener (a name you may recognize from Scott’s Pizza Tour), and it is a completely volunteer-run event. The proceeds from this pizza party will go to benefit City Harvest and Sylvia Center, a nonprofit organization focused on teaching children and families about healthy eating. The proceeds will be split 50/50 between the two organizations.
Attendees will be able to purchase a $1 RED ticket, which will be exchanged for a slice of pizza. You’ll need to bring exact change with you and it is a cash only event! There will be unlimited BLUE tickets available for drinks, desserts, and raffle, however the RED tickets will be limited to 10 per person.
