You know it’s serious when they get the celebrity PSAs involved…
Although New York State went into a “PAUSE” lockdown Sunday night (March 22), Governor Cuomo was still frustrated by the amount of people still on the streets over the weekend.
“This is not life as usual,” he urged. “There is a density level in NYC that is destructive. It has to stop and it has to stop now. NYC must develop an immediate plan to reduce density.”
Los Angeles recently closed their parks down for sports and recreation because of the amount of people still congregating in groups, which should only be for a quick, solitary walk daily. Who knows if New York may soon follow suit, if people don’t start taking this situation extremely seriously.
So now, Governor Cuomo started getting celebrities to make videos directly urging New Yorkers to STAY HOME. It started with Ben Stiller and Danny DeVito, and moved along to Robert De Niro and La La. And we bet more are on their way (he’s been sharing them on Twitter here).
If listening to Robert De Niro tell you “I’m watching you” doesn’t make you behave, we don’t know what will.
