Internet-born, beauty brand Glossier has made their Manhattan brick-and-mortar return with a brand new SoHo location. Glossier NYC follows the recent store opening in Williamsburg, Brooklyn just a few months earlier.
Though doors opened to the public this morning at 10am, eager shoppers waited in line since 1am.
Drawing inspiration from the brand’s origins and significant details of the city, the Manhattan flagship is a vibrant space, complete with industrial finishes and plush sofas to pair!
Glossier NYC is the ninth store under the brand. Similar to the other locations, it features a gift shop and interactive elements that are sure to have you snapping selfies.
Shoppers can come in and test products at their two 15-f00t-long tables meant for swatching, exploring and feeling Glossier’s extensive product line.
There’s even a wet bar room for testing skincare products and specialized beauty appointments.
The interior is made up of barrel-vaulted ceilings and large mosaic-tile murals from an artist that has done similar pieces across various NYC subway stations.
If you look for it, you’ll find a secret “You Look Good” room that showcases an enormous Glossier mural alongside a subway-inspired wooden bench in the back of the store.
After testing out some products and taking aesthetic photos for the feed, feel free to peruse their “gift shop” that carries Glossier’s full line of merch. It will feature items exclusively sold at their respective stores, in addition to an all black embroidered hoodie that is a special NYC signature item.
With every Glossier NY hoodie purchase, Glossier will donate $5 to Sadie Nash Leadership Project, a NYC non-profit organization focusing on empowering young women and gender-expansive youth of color through education.
“We’re thrilled to return to our downtown roots with the opening of Glossier NYC, right in SoHo, the neighborhood where it all began,” said Kyle Leahy, CEO of Glossier. “This new SoHo Flagship is an incredible representation of our brand in real life, where guests will be able to immerse themselves in all-things Glossier: trying products, engaging with our Editors and community, and sparking beauty discovery (and joy!). We’re excited for both our loyal fans and new customers to experience this stunning flagship space.”
