If your plans for ringing in the new year included something outdoors, you may want to rethink it. Although mild in temperature, there will be plenty of rainfall on December 31.
According to AccuWeather’s forecast, the rain is said to begin on Monday after 4:30 p.m. and will continue throughout the evening. While temperatures will be much warmer than New Year’s Eve last year, the rain and wind may make it feel colder out than it is. Temperatures are expected to be in the 40s, and will climb into the 50s on New Year’s Day.
The Weather Channel Reports that winds will reach anywhere from 10 to 20 mph, and about half an inch of rain is expected. It may not sound like much, but it can sure put a damper on your plans.
We can’t even imagine what Times Square will be like with all the umbrellas and wet confetti!
