The MetroCard craze is becoming a thing. Whether it’s a marketing trick or just the MTA’s way of getting people not to hate them for five minutes, these cute new cards have people going nuts.
Just a few months after the David Bowie MetroCard was released, the newest edition to the limited edition cards has arrived! In collaboration with Paul McCartney and in anticipation of his newest solo album, the MTA has released a limited edition “Egypt Station” card. According to the MTA, 50,000 cards were printed and will be available Grand Central- 42nd Street Station while supplies last.
If the card didn’t have you excited, McCartney has announced that he will be playing a secret show in NYC tonight so keep your eyes peeled not only for the card but for the star himself wandering the streets of the Big Apple. The event is going to be live streamed so even if you don’t get to see it in person, you’ll be able to tune in.
