Uber and McDonald’s have brilliantly teamed up to bring you free soft serve this summer.
Come Friday, open your Uber app and request free ice cream. As crazy as it seems, it’s really that simple.
The catch? Not everyone who makes the request will receive it. The key to getting the soft serve ice cream is to get a match with one of the Uber ice cream trucks. Once you match you, and up to four of your friends, will be brought ice cream and a limited edition, collectible cone—which we can’t help but wonder, what does that mean and what does a “collectible cone” look like exactly? Well, they’re actually prettier than you’d expect and come in three colors: pink, blue, and yellow.

Uber cone aesthetics aside, when you receive this cone you can then take it to McDonald’s for your free soft serve ice cream. You can test your luck at a match every Friday until September 22 (or actually until they run out of silicone Uber cones).
But even once they’ve run out of cones, don’t fret if you already have one. Assuming you don’t foolishly throw yours out, you can still take your reusable cone to participating McDonald’s for free soft serve every Friday until the 22nd.
The #UberIceCream delivery is taking place in nine other cities including: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, and Washington D.C.
