The final season of Game of Thrones begins in about two weeks, and HBO is sending fans on a global quest of their own.
As part of the Season 8 promotion, HBO decided to send fans on a global scavenger hunt for six Iron Thrones—one of which has been found in Queens!
The full size Iron Throne replica was discovered at Fort Totten Park by series fan Melanie Joaquín. As a resident of Queens, Joaquín immediately recognized the location after the cryptic post was released by GoT’s twitter account on Thursday.

HBO announced the hunt earlier this week, asking fans how far they would go #ForTheThrone. Their quest site also explains the challenge:
“For seven seasons you’ve watched characters lie, bleed, and sacrifice for the Iron Throne. As the final season approaches, only one question remains: How far will you go?”
For Joaquín that meant sneaking into the Fort Totten Battery.
